I have been diving in Milford Sound since the mid 1980's and am able to take you to some of the best sights that the Fiord has to offer with a mission to show visitors the amazing world of Fiordland above and below the water in a way that is not only safe, but also informative and fun.
This means that scuba divers like you can see rare black and red corals, spiny sea-dragons and other deepwater life at only 10-15m. For those non divers there is the chance to go ashore and get a close up look at the beautiful scenery and waterfall. Together with the Tawaki team, we take great pride in offering you a fantastic experience in Fiordland - we take you where no other cruise boat will - and hope that some of our passion for New Zealand, and Milford Sound in particular, will rub off on you for you to take home. My name is Mike of Southern Aqua Adventures. Being born and bred in the Southern Region, I have an intimate knowledge of the region and currently have a dive and charter operation around Stewart Island. Non-divers are also welcome to join us. Fiordland's unique marine environment results from a combination of dramatic mountains and intense rainfall. Massive volumes of water flow into the fiords, causing a freshwater layer to overlay the seawater, thereby creating an environment where deepwater species can live at unusually shallow depths.
